When To Use An Ovarium Conception Cup
Nov 01, 2024
Congrats! You took the first step in your pregnancy journey to maximize your chances of natural conception at home, and purchased the Ovarium Deluxe Conception Kit! What’s next? Let’s talk about it. The good news is, everything you need is already in your kit - all you need to do is track your cycle and baby dance!
First things first, you want to track your cycle. Your menstrual cycle is your body’s method of preparing for pregnancy. It starts on the first day of your period and resets with the onset of your next period. While a typical menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, cycles anywhere from 21 to 35 days are considered normal. In a typical 28-day cycle, ovulation usually occurs around day 14. However, this can vary from person to person.
For a 28-day cycle, you can start testing to see if you are ovulating around day 10 or 11. Time to take out your Ovarium ovulation (LH) test strips to find out! These strips are designed to detect the presence of the luteinizing hormone (LH), which is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. In women, LH levels surge mid-cycle, triggering ovulation, which is when an ovary releases an egg. LH levels increase 24 to 48 hours before ovulation, leading to the release of an egg from the ovary. Once you get the double line on the test strip, it’s time to baby dance!
Before you start the party, don’t forget to use Ovarium #TTC Fertility Friendly Lubricant! It’s a water-based lubricant that is FDA cleared as fertility-friendly, meaning it is compatible with sperm, oocytes, and embryos. It’s made without any harmful ingredients such as glycerin, which can be damaging to sperm motility and DNA. It’s pH balanced and designed to mimic the natural fluids of the body, so you can baby dance the night away knowing you are using clean, safe ingredients!
After intercourse, insert your conception cup into the vagina and leave it in for up to 12 hours to maximize your chances of natural conception. Hopefully this brings you a little peace of mind knowing that by keeping all of the sperm as close to the cervix as possible, you are increasing your fertile window and giving your body the highest chances of conception every time you use it.
You can do all of your normal daily functions (even a number one and number two) with Ovarium in place. Once you remove it, sanitize it in boiling water for 3 months (see packaging insert for directions) and store in the drawstring back for safe keeping!
Next, the Ovarium pregnancy test strips are designed to detect the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which is a hormone produced during pregnancy. It is secreted by the cells that form the placenta shortly after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. You can use the Ovarium early pregnancy test strips two days after your missed period. It’s best not to begin testing before a true missed period, because your body may not have produced enough hCG to be detected, and could result in a false negative.
Let's make some babies!
